Your ID on your phone
Add a digital version of your ID to Samsung Wallet using Samsung ID with CLEAR1 or with a Mobile Driver's License.2 You can use your Digital ID at participating TSA checkpoints for domestic flights.3 Instead of taking out your physical ID and passing it to a TSA Officer, you can use your Digital ID. You can also use your Digital ID for age verification, where available. It's fast, convenient, and secure.
Samsung ID with CLEAR is a Digital ID backed by the information in your passport and verified by CLEAR. You will need a valid US passport to add Samsung ID with CLEAR to Samsung Wallet. Once you have Samsung ID with CLEAR, you can upgrade to CLEAR+, which gets you access to the CLEAR airport security lanes. If you already subscribe to CLEAR+ your Samsung ID with CLEAR card will be blue rather than white, indicating that you are a subscriber.
To get started, get your US passport and open the `Quick access' tab in the Samsung Wallet app. In the `Quick access' tab, click on `+' at the top, select `Digital IDs', then select `Samsung ID with CLEAR', click on the `Continue' button, and follow the prompts.
Mobile Driver's License
A Mobile Driver's License is a Digital ID backed by your Driver's License or State ID, and verified by your state's motor vehicle authority. Please check with your state's motor vehicle authority to see whether they are participating in the Mobile Driver's License program, and for instructions on how to add it if they are.
Secure and private
With fingerprint or PIN required for access, and with Samsung Knox on your Galaxy phone or watch, your Digital ID is secure. The personal information from your Digital ID is encrypted.
How to use your Digital ID at TSA checkpoints
You have two options
With NFC
Tap your phone or smart watch near the NFC reader and authenticate once your phone displays your
Digital ID information.
With QR code
Open the Samsung Wallet app to the 'Quick Access' tab, select your Digital ID and authenticate to open
the card details page. Select 'View QR code' and scan the code on the QR code reader.
Some airport checkpoints require additional verification before you can clear the TSA checkpoint. For more information on Mobile Driver's License, please visit the Mobile Driver's License FAQ.
More features launching soon
This is just the beginning for Digital ID. We look forward to expanding ID coverage, as well as uses beyond TSA checkpoints and age verification, some of which are currently not even possible with a physical ID.
1 Apply for CLEAR ID (basic), or add or apply to upgrade to CLEAR+ (includes CLEAR+ lane at airport; fees apply).
2 Mobile Driver's License only for TSA ID purposes, only for ID holders from select states and at select TSA checkpoints. A Mobile Driver's License is optional and acts as a companion to your physical ID; it does not replace it. Visit the Samsung Walled FAQ for more information.
3 Only available at select TSA checkpoints at participating airports. Requires a compatible TSA identity reader machine. Availability subject to TSA and participating airport discretion. A boarding pass may still be required for ID verification at the TSA checkpoint. For a complete list of participating airports and additional information, please visit https://www.tsa.gov/digital-id.
